‘One-stop’ council shop for Sutton?

Nottinghamshire County Council’s customer service point under Sutton library is one of several earmarked for closure by the authority in a bid to save money and due to a fall in face-to-face enquiries.

The point is a place where residents can meet advisors in person to get support or advice on services such as social care, transport and travel, highways, registration services and waste and recycling.

Marj Toward, service director for HR and Customer Service at the county, said that they are working with Ashfield District and other councils to look at providing ‘one-stop’ shops for local authorities.

“The change will save the County Council around £100,000 per year and extend the number of days the services are available in a number of locations,” she said.
