FUN and friendship has played its part in a successful Open House event organised by Hucknall INNER WHEEL CLUB president, Nova Haskey.

Inner Wheel club members, church friends, family members and supporters joined in the charity fundraiser which took place at Mrs Haskey’s Papplewick Lane home in Hucknall.

As well as tea and coffee, friends manned stalls selling cakes, jewellery, knitted goods and ran a noughts or fives prize draw and a raffle.

The effort put in by Mrs Haskey and her supporters was rewarded when she announced that more than £250 had been raised during the course of the event.

During her year in office as Inner Wheel president, Mrs Haskey has nominated three charities which will receive an equal share of funds raised from events held throughout the year.

The charities being supported by the group are the Hope Lea Project, which helps people with special needs, Indigo Kids (children with autism) and the Under One Roof (community support) Project.

“I would like to take this opportunity of thanking everyone who contributed to the success of the Open House event,” said Mrs Haskey.

“People have been very generous in difficult times.”
