LETTER: Areas in incinerator ‘fallout zone’ are in the dark

We can only assume that someone did not wish us to be told that we were in the direct fall-out zone of an incinerator experiment!

We have only just learned the full facts of this plan and that this plan has been halted by the Secretary of State.

For such an action to be taken by national government, there must be some serious concerns about the viability of such a proposal.

How did the plans for this experimental incinerator have so much support from Nottinghamshire County Council, particularly when what is intended to be burned still has not been revealed?

Obviously Newark and Sherwood District Council rejected the incinerator proposals based on research, investigations, and common sense and of course the obvious lack of information from the developers.

The question remains, why are the people in the fall out zone being kept in the dark.

M. Nelson is also correct about wind direction. Every time I see the Bilsthorpe wind turbines, it’s clear the wind is coming towards Southwell and a much greater area either side of the town.

We certainly would not hold up much hope for future tourism in this part of the county with plans like this.
