Why don't buses go down the bypass?

I FEEL I must reply to the Letter from Coun Chris Baron (Lab), of Hucknall, in the Dispatch, headed 'Residents In The West Of Hucknall ARE Served Well By Buses'.

We are not saying that we have no buses in this area. What we are saying is why on earth have we not got a bus that goes down the bypass? Surely this was made to ease traffic in Hucknall town centre.

How many times has Coun Baron used these services to get to Nottingham or Bulwell and back again and had to get FOUR buses or two buses and a tram?

I personally work in Bulwell, which is a 15-minute car-journey, and it takes me that long just to get into Hucknall. Then I have to wait again for a Rainbow 3 bus and, let's face it, nine times out of ten they are running late. I then have a 20-minute walk because none of the buses go into Bulwell.

Every ten minutes sounds all OK in theory but, really, it doesn't work. A journey that should be 15 minutes into Bulwell and 30 minutes into Nottingham is dragged out into an unnecessary 40 minutes. Maybe you should try this one day, Coun Baron.

Come on, a 500-name petition says it all. Last week's Letter really reflects how in touch councillors are with the west of Hucknall.
