Opticians focused on success

A Hucknall opticians has won a national award in recognition of its excellence in people development.

Specsavers at 56 High Street, Hucknall, has beaten hundreds of its counterparts around the country to win the 2014 Specsavers Excellence in People Development and Engagement award.

This accolade was presented to the Hucknall store for going the extra mile in motivating members of the team, and taking the time to grow employees’ skills.

As part of the nomination criteria, comments from satisfied customers were submitted, which detailed the store’s professionalism, helpfulness and family atmosphere.

In the last two years, the Hucknall team has almost doubled in size with the addition of seven new starters, including an apprentice lab technician who was retained at the end of his apprenticeship. Two people have completed degrees in dispensing optics with close support from the store and two employees have advanced on to regional roles within the group.
