Outline planning application made for 400 homes in Warsop

An outline planning application has been made including access for up to 400 houses on land to the south of Stonebridge Lane, Warsop, together with associated highways works, public open space and landscaping.

Harworth Estates and the trustees of the Warsop Estate have proposed residential development for up to 400 new homes including affordable housing to meet local needs, new vehicular and pedestrian access onto the site off Sokholme Lane ad Stonebridge Lane.

The proposals include new areas of public open space, allotments and landscaping.

In a planning statement the developers state: ”Up to 400 homes are proposed and will incorporate a mix of house types from two to four bed properties including bungalows.

“The scheme provides for high quality residential development with a mix of types styles and sizes of houses.

“The amount and tenure of onsite affordable housing provision will be discussed with the District Council however it is proposed that affordable housing will be provided consistent with the viability of the development.”

The site is identified inthe Mansfield draft Local Plan as a proposed site for residential development.

The proposal would involve development on greenfield land but the effect on the character and appearance of the area would not be significant.

The consultation period began on July 1 and ends on July 25.
