Park run event hits its 100th milestone

Mansfield Park Run has celebrated its 100th outing of the 5,000 metre, free to enter event at Mansfield Woodhouse’s Manor Park.

The event starts at 9am every Saturday throughout the year and has seen in excess of a thousand runners take part since it began in September 2012.

Races are organised solely by volunteer runners who take part, the majority of whom come from a small core of the most regular participants.

A spokesman said numbers taking part had gradually increased as more people got to know about the event.
