Parks get Green Flag Award

Five other Ashfield Parks have received the award, including Sutton Lawn and Brierley Forest Park in Sutton, Portland Park and Kingsway Park in Kirkby, Selston Golf Course and Titchfield Park in Hucknall.

A Green Flag Award is the benchmark of a quality park or green space. It guarantees a public space is welcoming, clean, well-maintained, safe and secure and pays attention to the conservation of the natural and built environment.

Leader of the Council Chris Baron said: “The parks in Ashfield are something local people are proud of and for good reason. Ashfield District Council has more Green Flags than any other district in the East Midlands.

“I want to thank the teams and Friends Groups who dedicated time to making them as fantastic as they are.”
