Pedal power for epilepsy

Wayne Cartlidge completed the challenging Prudential RideLondon-Surrey 100 cycle race on Sunday 10th August, to raise much-needed funds for Epilepsy Action.

The charity provides advice and support to the 600,000 people with epilepsy in the UK.

Wayne (39) said: “I started cycling at the age of 13 and I recently rekindled my love of the sport following a long stretch of time serving in the Army.

“I set myself a number of cycling challenges to complete in 2014, so the RideLondon-Surrey 100 is just one of many cycling races I have participated in.

“I have just cycled from London-Paris, also in aid of Epilepsy Action.

“My father had epilepsy for most of his life so I know how hard having a family member with epilepsy can be.

“I always feel really proud when I am cycling for Epilepsy Action, knowing that I am raising funds for a charity that does such valuable work.”

So far, Wayne has raised over £1,400 for the charity and told Chad that he hopes to raise even more.

The money he raises will help to support the charity’s work all over the UK.

Epilepsy Action campaigns to improve epilepsy healthcare services and raise awareness of the condition.

It also provides a network of support groups, funds a specialist nurse scheme, holds regular events and has a freephone and email helpline.
