Coun Jason Zadrozny, leader of Ashfield District Council, said: “The Covid Support Officers are doing a fantastic job of working with and advising local businesses.

"Every time the district changes tiers it creates a new set of questions and challenges for businesses.

"Our Covid Officers are armed with all the information needed to ensure that businesses have all the information they need, whether that be advice on opening, posters on social distancing and face masks or information on grants on business support.

"We are getting great feedback from businesses who are finding the additional support really helpful.

“We are committed to supporting businesses and our high streets.

"We want residents to feel safe and secure as they’re out and about across the district.

"We continue to invest in our town centres, we are just finalising our submission for the Towns Fund which will bring up to £25 million each for Kirkby and Sutton and we’re once again offering free weekend car parking in our town centre car parks throughout December.

"Our message to residents is shop small and remember your local independent retailers this Christmas.”
