Hucknall winners of the 2021 Discover Ashfield Awards

A variety of awards were up for grabs, including three new awards recognising the work and support that has been offered during the pandemic.

The judging panel, which included Discover Ashfield Chair Martin Rigley, were faced with some tough decisions.

There were so many inspiring nominations, all of which have achieved so much in many different ways.

Winners from Hucknall included Ideal Cars, Scott & Co Fresh Fruit & Veg, The Fruit Corner and Lynne Ryland and Chef Dave who works at Porterhouse in Annesley.

Pete Edwards, Discover Ashfield Theme Lead for Be Happy, Be Healthy said: ‘I’d like to thank everyone that took the time to put in a nomination for this years Discover Ashfield awards.

"We had some fantastic entries and there were many worthy winners.

“It was an honour and a pleasure to be able to present some of the Covid-19 Young Hero winners with their awards.

"Health and Wellbeing is so important and it’s amazing to see young people in Ashfield championing this subject and helping to make a difference in their communities.

“I’d like to congratulate all of the winners and the runners up, there is some amazing community work taking place in Ashfield and they should be very proud of what they have achieved.”
