Atlanta Morris, the Early Years Leader at Hucknall Flying High Academy, said: “We are so pleased that Persimmon Homes have chosen to support our outdoor project.

“A new community is being built around our school and we are working hard to ensure our pupils benefit from the best facilities that we can offer.

“An outdoors space provides an ideal learning experience which can also enhance their physical activity.

“We are looking forward to working on creating this new facility.”

Neil Follows, managing director for Persimmon Homes Nottingham, said: “We love to support good causes in the communities where we build and with our Hawkers Place development being built next to the school it was a pleasure to hand over the donation.”

As part of the monthly Community Champions scheme, each of Persimmon Homes’ regional businesses choose two groups to benefit from a match-funded donation of up to £1,000 each.

Neil added: “We encourage any good causes from across Nottingham to apply for next months donation by completing an online form at www.persimmonhomes.com/charity.”

In February 65 UK charities and community groups received funding from Persimmon and the total amount we donated was £61,000.

Persimmon Community Champions is a national programme where charities and groups can apply for funding up to the value of £1,000 to match money they have already raised themselves.

Groups and charities can apply every month for a donation and going forward the Persimmon Community Champions want to focus on organisations that support the over-70s, which are a vulnerable group in society, particularly during this time of lockdown and uncertainty.
