A bronze plaque bearing a poem which went missing from Hucknall Market Place has now been replaced.

Carl Chamberlain’s poem Parish Church was installed as a centerpiece of the £500,000 revamp of the Market Place in 2007. But it was removed when the civic Christmas tree was installed last December.

Coun Lachlan Morrison, a Labour member of Ashfield District Council, took up the matter and a new plaque has now been provided. The poem underlines Byron’s connection with Hucknall.
