Police appeal following hit-and-run

A man suffered a broken arm after being hit by a car which then drove away, police have revealed.

The man was crossing Chesterfield Road South in Mansfield at its junction with Wood Street when he was struck by the vehicle.

The incident happened at around 11.33pm on Saturday 30th November and police issued an appeal for information this week.

The injured man, who has not been named, was taken to King’s Mill Hospital and treated for a broken arm and other minor injuries, police said.

The car was travelling from the direction of Pleasley towards Mansfield town centre.

PC Ian Dickson said: “This happened late at night so if anyone saw anything they may not think they had a clear enough view but any information could help trace this driver.

“And if you remember someone arriving home and acting differently or even alluding to what had happened please get in touch.”
