Police called after man barricaded himself in flat

Police resources were deployed to a domestic disturbance to Mansfield’s Oak Tree estate shortly after midnight today (Saturday 28th June).

Residents reported multiple police vehicles and ambulances in Hucklow Court overnight, following a disturbance.

But police said the presence was precautionary following an alcohol-related domestic incident and a man who barricaded himself into a flat.

It is believed that the man then fell asleep and allowed police into the property later this morning when he woke up.

The man, who has not been named, was detained by police and taken to hospital as a precaution, police said, and nobody was injured in the incident.

A Nottinghamshire Police spokesman told Chad: “There was nobody injured. We had to deploy resources but we were there to make sure that it ended peacefully.”
