Police probe continues eight days after man found injured in Mansfield

Police are still appealing for witnesses to come forward eight days after a man was found injured with puncture wounds in a Forest Town street.

There have been no arrests since the man was found in Garibaldi Road, on Monday 12th May.

There are rumours circulating on social media that the man was stabbed.

The 28-year-old was discovered at around 1am near Garibaldi School.

Detectives think he was injured in Clipstone Road East, near the Crown Farm roundabout, at the entrance to the Garibaldi estate.

They are studying CCTV footage made around the time of the incident.

He was treated for a puncture wound and remains at Nottingham’s Queen’s Medical Centre where his condition is stable and improving.

Detective Sergeant Stuart Temple said: “We are treating this incident very seriously and are exploring a number of theories as to how this man sustained his injuries.

“I am appealing to anyone who may have information that could help our investigation to call us.

“Were you walking or driving in the area between midnight and 1am yesterday? Did you see this man or do have any information about how he sustained his injuries? If so, pick up the phone.”

The man is white and was wearing a blue Ralph Lauren polo shirt, blue jeans and white trainers.
