Officers from the areas Safer Neighbourhood policing teams visited Pinxton Kirkstead Junior School on Monday, January 20, with PCSO Marion Jeffery of the South Normanton and Pinxton team.

She held a lesson with a class of Year 6 pupils at the school, and spoke about respecting others, taking responsibility and considering the risks and consequences of their actions.

PCSO Jeffery said: “During the lesson we talked about respect for other people and the community, and how the things you do can affect others. They all listened really well and took an interest in the discussion. I even had the chance to stay for lunch with the youngsters afterwards.

“Going into schools is not only a good way for us to get to know local youngsters, but we can also speak about issues such as safety and anti-social behaviour, which will hopefully help to keep them away from harm in the future.”
