Police have urged a thug who robbed an elderly woman in Hucknall, to turn himself in.
The 81-year-old victim had just returned home to Farleys Lane at around 9pm on Monday 22nd December, and was about to go inside the house when a man pushed her to the floor and took her handbag.
The offender then ran off towards Betts Avenue. Neighbours and passing residents came to the aid of the victim, who received some facial injuries. She was treated at the scene by paramedics.
Detective Inspector Richard Monk, who is overseeing the investigation, said, “We want the offender to think long and hard about his actions and the impact on this woman, and to turn himself in. We also want to hear from anyone else who knows who did this or has any information that could bring the perpetrator to justice.”
Anyone with information can call 101 or call Crimestoppers anonymously.
