Police used CS spray to restrain Sutton man who assaulted officer

Police used CS spray to restrain a Sutton man who had assaulted an officer following his arrest, a court heard.

Callum Dallman of Lawrence Crescent pleaded guilty at Mansfield Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday to assaulting a police officer, damaging window handles belonging to East Midlands Housing and possession of cannabis.

The court heard Dallman, 21 was drunk when he damaged windows at the flat in Acorn View, Kirkby and shouted “I will kill you“ at staff. Police were called and he head butted an officer who tried to handcuff him. As he struggled, CS spray was used to restrain him. Dallman who has drugs and mental health issues, denied deliberately headbutting the officer.

He was remanded on unconditional bail until October 15.
