With a sell-out crowd of thousands expected, Nottinghamshire Police are warning people to be on their guard and keep their belongings safe.

Fans of Harry, Zane, Niall, Louis and Liam are being sent a message by officers to ‘look after your smartphone!’

Shaun Ostle, Head of the City Centre for police and council partnership, Community Protection said: “There are a few things you can do to protect yourself against would-be phone thieves and we’re urging parents to encourage young people with smartphones to get protected.”

1. Don’t flash it about. If you’re not using it, keep it somewhere secure and make sure your bag is zipped up.

2. Make sure you know where it is – don’t leave it lying about and be aware of what’s going on around you, especially if it’s crowded.

3. If you lose it, make sure you can track it - Download a tracking app…..

Are you running on Android? Try where’s my droid and find your phone (even if it’s on silent or vibrate) by texting a special code. When your phone receives the code, there will be an alert at maximum volume until you discover its whereabouts.

Or is it an iphone? Then ‘Find my iphone’ is for you – this app (available from the app store on your iphone )will let you use another IOS device to find it through locating it on a map whilst sounding an alarm and protect your data through remotely locking or wiping your device.
