Inspector Deborah Regan, the Neighbourhood Policing Inspector for Eastwood and Kimberley, says she is pleased about the conviction of Michelle Leebetter, 36, of Maws Lane, Kimberley, who was sentenced to three years in jail at Nottingham Crown Court.

The court heard how police stopped Leebetter in Eastwood whilst she was driving her vehicle and found 168 wraps of class A drugs on her, worth approximately £1700. She was arrested at the scene.

A warrant was then executed at her home, and officers found another large quantity of drugs worth over £6000.

Leebetter was charged and pleaded guilty to possession of Class A drugs with intent to supply and was sentenced at Nottingham Crown Court on December 2.

Inspector Deborah Regan, the Neighbourhood Policing Inspector for Eastwood and Kimberley, said: “The hard work of local officers has been fully rewarded with this result. I am pleased that Leebetter will have long time to think about her actions whilst in jail.

“We are aware that drugs are a significant community concern in Eastwood, and this conviction is the result of the numerous drug warrants and activities that took place in the area earlier this year.

“This case is a message to the public that we are working hard to remove drugs from the streets of Eastwood, and also a warning to other drug users and suppliers that we will find you and make sure you are brought to justice.”
