Potholes on Hucknall roads are ‘totally abysmal and unacceptable’, Coun John Wilmott has claimed.
He raised the issue on behalf of Hucknall First Community Forum at a full meeting of Notts County Council.
Coun Wilmott has taken nearly 100 photos of potholes and uneven road surfaces in 25 areas of Hucknall. He said: “The state of streets in Hucknall is far below the standard we should expect. Some markings made round the potholes to earmark them for repairs have faded so much that you can hardly see them.”
Coun Kevin Greaves (Lab), chair of the transport and highways committee, insisted that a £77.9m government grant for road improvements had seen 100,000 road repairs carried out across Nottinghamshire in the past year.
But he pledged an inspection of the problem spots identified by Coun Wilmott.
