HAIR and beauty staff from Hucknall’s Oasis salon are hoping to be tickled pink by their latest fundraising initiative.

The group have transformed themselves and the Wighay Road salon into a pink haven during Breast Cancer Action Month to raise money for Breast Cancer Care.

Owner Alison Madge, who is a survivor of the disease herself, has set a target of raising £1,000 for the worthwhile cause.

“It’s a shock when our customers first walk through the door but they think it is brilliant,” said Alison, who has lived in the town for 33 years. “We are fundraising throughout the month and all the staff and customers have been very supportive.

“We have decorated with pink feather boas and balloons as well as dressing up in pink and using pink towels. We have a raffle with more than 25 prizes and cakes and refreshments on offer which people are making donations towards. We hope to raise as much cash as possible and thank everyone for their support.”
