A Cinderhill man has been jailed for sending abusive text and social media messages.

Gareth Daniel Massam, 33, of Bagnall Road, Cinderhill, admitted sending abusive and threatening Facebook and text messages between September 21 and September 24, in Bulwell.

Nottinghamshire magistrates sentenced him to prison for 24 weeks because the offences were committed shortly after he had been released from a custodial sentence for violence against the same victim.

He was also ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £80, a criminal courts charge of £180

The texts were sent between October 30 and November 2.
