HUCKNALL site manager David Dearden has won an award for his ‘Pride in the Job’ at the Papplewick Green housing development.

David started his career with DAVID WILSON HOMES at 16 as an apprentice joiner before working his way up and becoming an award-winning site manager.

At the prestigious annual National House-Building Council (NHBC) awards ceremony, David, together with eight other Pride in the Job recipients from across the East Midlands division, collected their awards, which recognised their high working standards.

“This is an outstanding result for David Wilson East Midlands and confirms the high standards which we pride ourselves on meeting,” said Darren Langton, construction director.

“We are proud of the workmanship of all of our site managers and the official recognition confirms that David Wilson Homes is building some of the best developments in the East Midlands.

“The site manager plays a pivotal role in delivering our high-quality new homes and we are delighted that a record nine of our site managers have been commended in these annual honours.”

Almost 13,000 site managers throughout the UK were judged on every aspect of their job, including technical skills, quality workmanship, customer service and site safety.

There are only 400 Pride in the Job awards given by the NHBC each year so the recognition of David and his colleagues put them in the top three per cent of their industry.
