Recycle your non-digital television sets

AS the digital switchover gathers pace, viewers in the Dispatch district are being urged to recycle their old televisions.

Veolia Evironmental Services (Notts County Council’s waste-management contractor) is encouraging residents to take their unwanted sets to any of the county’s recycling centres, including the one on Wigwam Lane in Hucknall.

Kevin Parker, regional communications manager for Veolia, said: “On average, we receive about 7,000 TV sets for recycling each month at Nottinghamshire’s recycling centres. We are expecting even more during and after the digital switchover.”
