Motoring

Steven James Hodgkinson, 28 of Cherry Avenue Kirkby admitted dangerous driving, using a car without insurance or a license and failing to stop when ordered to do so by a policeman. He was committed to Nottingham Crown Court for sentencing on October 28.

Christopher Varley, 31, of Clare Road, Sutton admitted taking a vehicle which was not his and driving it at excessive speed in a built up area which resulted in an injury causing accident. He was committed to prison for 20 weeks suspended for 12 months. Varley was placed on a 12-week curfew with electronic monitoring with £115 victim surcharge and £85 costs. He was also banned from driving for 18 months.

Violence

Stephen John Bordun, 63 of Colston Road, Mansfield pleaded guilty to assaulting a woman by beating her. He was fined £270 and given a restraining order, with a victim surcharge of £30 and £85 costs.

Luke John Forster, 37 of Forest Road Sutton, admitted assaulting two men at Mansfield bus station. He was committed to prison for 16 weeks suspended for 12 months. It was an unprovoked attack on a council worker including kicking on the floor and then assaulting a member of the public. He was ordered to pay £100 compensation, a victim surcharge of £115 and costs of £85.

Craig John Siggee, 23 of no fixed address pleaded guilty to assaulting a 15-year-old boy by beating. He was committed to prison for 14 weeks suspended for two years. He was ordered to carry out 100 hours of unpaid work within the supervision period of 24 months, pay his victim £500 compensation, £115 victim surcharge and £85 costs.

Drink Driving

Ashley Michael Cooper,31 ,of Cobden Place Mansfield pleaded guilty to driving a Ford Transit on Priory Road Mansfield Woodhouse with 43mcg of alcohol in 100ml of breath where the legal limit is 35 mcg. He also admitted taking the vehicle without consent and driving without insurance. He was committed to prison for 16 weeks, offence so serious because he has had ample time to address issues on his past record. Cooper was also disqualified from driving for four years.

Stephen Francis Scullion, 31 of Elderfield Drive, Sutton admitted driving with 41 mcg of alcohol in 100 ml of breath. He was disqualified from driving for 12 months, fiend £150 with £85 costs and victim surcharge of £30.

Threats

Christopher Michael Beniston, 28 of Mapplewells Crescent, Sutton pleaded guilty to threatening a woman that he would cause damage to a vehicle. He also pleaded guilty to two breaches of restraining orders. He was committed to prison for a total of 12 weeks with victim surcharge of £115.

Wayne Tomlinson 50, of Abbey Road, Kirkby caused a woman to fear that violence would be used against her, by threatening to ‘run her over’. He was fined £150 with a restraining order and victim surcharge of £30.

Breaches

Lee Michael Clowes, 31 of Stewart Street, Sutton failed to comply with a supervision requirement following release from prison. Committed to prison for 14 days.

Fraud

Sharon Huxley, 47 of Newcastle Street, Huthwaite committed fraud in that she dishonestly altered a cheque from £300 to £800 to make a gain of £500 for herself, and falsified and signed a stolen cheque to gain another £500, at Maun View home for the elderly. She was committed to prison for a total of 52 weeks suspended for two months. The curt heard offences were mean but borne of desperation, the elderly complainant was in the defendant’s care and trust and the effect on injured party had beendramatic and long lasting. She was ordered to pay compensation totalling £1,000, victim surcharge of £80 and £300 costs. She changed her plea to guilty from a previous plea of not guilty.

Theft

Antony Muzsla, 29, of Northwood Avenue, Sutton admitted stealing food and drink from Asda worth £8.27, the theft of an X Box 1 from a woman in Sutton and assaulting a man by beating him. He was fined £100 with victim surcharge of £30 and ordered to pay compensation of £100.

Simon Waynbe Foulkes, 35, of Sherwood Street, Mansfield stole a pair of Tommy Hilfiger 57 glasses worth £125 from Specsavers. He was committed to prison for six weeks concurrent to an existing sentence. He was ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £80.

Ian Hautenne, 31, of Alfreton Road, Sutton pleaded guilty to stealing a pallet of spirits to the value of £8,568 from Morrisons. He also admitted damaging two CCTV dvr’s worth £3,000 belonging to Morrisons. He was committed to Nottingham Crown Court for sentencing on October 28.

Antony Fidler, 35, of Stone Cross Court Mansfield admitted stealing steak to the value of £50 from CO-OP stores. He also pleaded guilty to assaulting a man by beating him and entering Mansfield Town Centre whilst prohibited from doing so. He also admitted stealing a box of Nesquick milk shakes a Transformers Toy and a pair of ear phones worth £18.97 from Asda. In addition Fidler admitted being rowdy at Mansfield Bus Station and on Leeming Street Mansfield whilst prohibited under an anti-social behaviour order. He was given a total prison sentence of 34 weeks.

Nicki Stephen Hartwright, 36, of Westfield Lane, Mansfield admitted stealing portable speakers worth £40 from Tesco. He was discharged conditionally for 12 months and ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £20.

Steven Yemm , 52, of Clifton place Mansfield, stole a can of Monster energy drink and two Twix chocolate bars worth £3.57 from WH Smith at King’s Mill Hospital. He also admitted stealing a sandwich worth £3.25 and another can of Monster energy drink at the same place on the same day. He was discharged conditionally and ordered to pay compensation of £10.56, with £40 costs

Drugs

Ricky Lee Thornley, 24, of Sherwood Street, Mansfield admitted possessing Diazepam, a controlled class C drug. He was fined £60 with victim surcharge of £30 and costs of £85.

Miscellaneous

Daniel James Singleton, 20 of Blake Crescent, Mansfield, non payment of a fine of £530 imposed in November 2015. Committed to custody for 14 days for culpable neglect to pay. He was ordered to pay at the rate of £10 a week.

John Joseph Readman, 33 of Austin Close,Mansfield pleaded guilty to being found in a dwelling house for an unlawful purpose. He was committed to prison for 28 days suspended for 12 months. Offence committed on a suspended sentence. He was ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £115.

Leons Stankevics 53, of Bowling Street, Mansfield pleaded guilty to drunk and disorderly behaviour and carrying a lock knife without good reason or lawful authority. He was committed to prison for 8 weeks suspended for 12 months, with victim surcharge of £115 and costs of £85.

Natalie Dawn Briggs, 35, of River View Warsop breached a restraining order prohibiting her from contacting a female on two occasions. She was committed to prison for a total of 10 months. Offence so serious because of previous record and prolonged course of conduct. She also had to pay a victim surcharge of £115.
