Research Awareness Day at King’s Mill

People will have the chance to find out more about clinical research at an information stand at King’s Mill Hospital.

As part of the Trust’s Research Awareness Day on 2nd October, patients, visitors and staff will be able learn about research activities at the Trust and how they can get involved, as well as participating in a number of fun activities and games.

Research nurses will be on hand to talk about what research involves, and successful research trials the Trust has already undertaken.

They will also provide expert advice to people wishing to undertake research activities, and information on resources available to researchers to assist them to conduct clinical trials within their specialist areas.

Lynsey Judd, Research Team Leader for Sherwood Forest Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, said: “Over the last year we have successfully recruited over 1,200 patients to research trials in many clinical areas across the Trust.

“Clinical research improves health outcomes and getting involved not only has the potential to benefit the people that take part, but also gives the opportunity to have a positive impact on the care and treatment of other patients in the future.

“I would encourage everyone to come along and find out more, whether they have a particular interest in research or not”.
