PARENTS are being urged to make sure their children are briefed on how to stay safe on the roads now that schools in Hucknall are back in session after the summer holidays.

The message comes from Notts County Council, which is particularly keen to make sure youngsters moving up from primary school to secondary school are protected. Advice includes planning a route and not crossing roads between parked cars.

Drivers are also being encouraged to take extra care now the new school year is under way.
