Roger The Mascot record deal buzz

What has already been quite a year for Warsop Indie Rockers Roger The Mascot has just got better as the band announce their record deal.

The four-piece had not long been back from supporting Indie legends the Arctic Monkeys at Croatia’s INmusic festival when the offer came from Buxton-based label LMC Records.

Mascot will be recording their single for release in 150 countries in October.

Daniel Vardy, songwriter, singer and guitarist for the band, said: “It is very exciting. We cannot believe it.

“All we need from the label is promotion and to get radio play. For the position we are in now it is really exciting.

“First off we will do two singles and if they do well we could be offered a full contract - which would be a two-album deal.

“Also, the label is organising a US tour in 2014 and we could be one of the bands going along.”

To celebrate their success Mascot will be signing their recording contract live on stage during a celebration gig at Welbeck Miners Welfare, Meden Vale.

Apart from Mascot, there will also be live performances on the night from Sea Monster Eyes, Hunting Ellen, Funkasaw and Venture.

Said Daniel: “It is going to be fantastic - it will be one of the biggest nights Meden Vale has ever seen.

“There is a capacity of 500 but I think we will fit it.”

Roger The Mascot’s signing party will be held on 28th September. Tickets are £5 and are available on the door, which opens at 6.30pm.

You must also be 18+ to gain entry.
