Running club under starters orders

A running club is under starters orders and is heading for Hucknall next month.

The new club will follow in the footsteps of Mansfield Runners, which started two years ago as a Run England group with close links to Mansfield Harriers and Athletic Club.

The group starts on Friday 16th May from Hucknall Leisure Centre on Linby Road at 11am every Friday in the year excluding Christmas day/New Years Day.

“The group will provide a safe,fun and enjoyable running experience for both new runners and the more experienced.,” said Maddy Collinge.

“It is perfect for those of us who have got bored with running on our own and want some company.

“It is astonishing how much faster and further we can go when running with others.”

The sessions will be led by experienced and qualified Run England coaches and each session will last about 1 hour and may cover up to 5/6 miles in total but the sessions are designed so that everyone can be seen and no one gets left behind or lost.
