Julie Ainger (34), of Kirkby, is inviting family and friends along to her event after completing extensive treatment for her illness in June.

A raffle, a ‘how many sweets in the jar?’ competition, face painting, henna tattoos and a bouncy castle are set to be part of the entertainment between 2pm and 6pm, with proceeds going to Cancer Research UK.

Julie was diagnosed with breast cancer in September 2013 and has since undergone a lumpectomy operation, rounds of chemotherapy and radiotherapy and white blood cell and Zoladex injections.

She has a six-year-old daughter, Cassie, and hopes to raise £500 from the fun day.

“My goal throughout this tough journey has been to give something back for all the support and encouragement I have been given,” she said.
