It would cost £100,000 to remove controversial traffic-calming humps from Moor Road, Bestwood Village, the parish council was told.
The ‘cushions’ have caused division since they were installed because they can cause noise when drivers go over them and may damage vehicles.
Council chairman Coun Denis Beeston said he was personally unhappy that the humps had been installed in the first place.
A survey of residents showed a slight majority in favour of them. The meeting was told that Notts County Council were unlikely to remove the humps in any case because they had reduced accidents by 75 per cent.
