Salvation Army concert

The East Midlands Fellowship Salvation Army Band and the Rolls Royce Ladies’ Choir are both performing at a community concert being held in Somercotes.

The Somercotes Salvation Army Corps has organised the concert, which combines an experienced Salvation Army Band drawn from various across the East Midlands and beyond, led by bandmaster David Garrett.

Musicians from Sheffield, Gainsborough and Doncaster will combine with local Corps in an eagerly-awaited performance.

This is the first time such a major joint Salvation Army band has appeared in Somercotes in this way and the concert has been arranged in the Village Hall on the Market Place, as a central point for the community and churches to get together.

The Rolls Royce Ladies Choir are well known to music and song lovers and are a major attraction in themselves and much in demand for concerts and offer an interesting and vibrant contrast on a musical evening which has something for everyone.

The concert is on Saturday 1st March at 7.30 pm. Admission is £5 for adults, £3 for children and payment is either on the door or in advance by contacting Terry Carpenter, Territorial Envoy, Somercotes Corps on 01773 606945 or 07948 998507.
