Scary visitors draw crowds at Hucknall library

A variety of animals were brought to the South Street venue from White Post Farm to give people the chance to meet and greet them.

Families flooded through the doors to see what was in store and were delighted with the alternative animals.

“It was a very successful event and we had over 250 visitors during the day,” said library manager Sharon Wells. “Hucknall Children’s Centre were also in attendance and organised a number of craft activities to keep children busy from colouring to mask making.”

The event ran from 10-3pm and proved a big attraction as youngsters gathered to pet guinea pigs, rabbits and chicks with some daring to touch a snake, lizard and even a cockroach.

“We were busy throughout the day and it was a lovely community event that brought something different to the library.”
