The principal at Bulwell Academy has spoken of his pride at the latest Ofsted report into the school.
Paul Halcro says that inspectors recorded improvements in a range of areas, such as teaching and overall behaviour.
He said: “We were very pleased with what they had to say.
“They recognised the improvements we have made at the academy, the achievements of the pupils and the progress we are making.”
Ofsted, whose report can be viewed on the academy’s website, said March’s inspection was the fourth monitoring inspection since the school became subject to special measures following an inspection in November 2013.
The reports said that the academy ‘is making reasonable progress towards the removal of special measures’.
It acknowledged that ‘students’ progress in mathematics is rapidly improving’ and that ‘boys’ progress and achievement has dramatically improved’. Inspectors also highlighted that the quality of teaching was continuing to improve at each monitoring visit and that academy leaders had ‘successfully eradicated any inadequate teaching’.
