A Hucknall school has been named as a ‘centre of excellence’ for the way it teaches youngsters about money.
The Holgate Academy received the award from financial charity PFEG (Personal Finance Education Group) after a successful bid by maths teacher Laura Boultby.
Miss Boultby said: “This means that pupils at the Academy receive high quality financial education - which is now a compulsory part of the National Curriculum. Pupils in year 7 – 11 have the opportunity to participate in activities during Maths, PD and tutor time.”
A school spokesman said the award is for three years and the school will share ‘our knowledge and good practice with local feeder schools, other schools within the academy partnership and the local community.’
