Sean Pitchford, of Sutton Road, a founding member of the Mansfield Detour Scooter Club, died suddenly on 8th Januaryrelatives told Chad..

Around 700 mourners attended the 49-year-old’s funeral service on 24th January at Mansfield Crematorium, including more than 200 on scooters.

And, as a mark of respect, the group rode in convoy behind the cortege through the streets of Mansfield.

Daughter Robyn Pitchford (22) told Chad: “None of us expected that many people to attend dad’s funeral. They couldn’t all fit in the chapel.

The club was founded in 2010 and now has members from across the country who meet up for regular midweek rides.

Member Mark Sessford said: “I’ve never seen such a massive turnout at a funeral. We all did him proud.”
