Staff at McColl's on Leeway Road were distracted by a man and a woman before the theft, according to Nottinghamshire Police.

It happened on Sunday at about 5.40pm.

A post on Southwell Police Facebook page said: "The female is gaunt looking very short with a possible limp, the male is quite tall slim build.

"Can all businesses displaying charity tins please be aware of offenders trying to distract staff, as these people obviously have no morals."
