THE STAGE is set for a spectacular version of the musical ‘Joseph And The Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat’ to bring down the curtain on the school year at Leen Mills Primary in Hucknall.
The classic Andrew Lloyd-Webber hit is a biblical tale of a father, Jacob, who buys his favourite son, Joseph, a multi-coloured coat — much to the envy of Joseph’s brothers.
The show, which will be performed at the school on Leen Mills Lane, stars 100 children aged ten and 11.
Playing the title role is Beth Tuggey and she will star alongside Callum Gillan, who is playing Pharaoh, Dominic Guyler, as Potepher, and Megan Garrett as Potepher’s wife.
The school’s musical co-ordinator, Gail Brown, says that their version of the West End favourite will include all the well-known songs, such as ‘Any Dream Will Do’.
She said: “The children are very excited about it. They are doing really well — there is lots of singing and dance routines. It is coming together really well.”
Previous productions the school has put on include ‘Oliver!’, ‘Romeo and Juliet’ and ‘Robin Hood’.
The show will take place on Tuesday (July 12) and Wednesday evening (July 13), with a matinee performance on Wednesday too.
Tickets are available on the door.
