Oak Tree Primary School pupil Lilli Mai presented the cash to Mansfield Soup kitchen this week.

Her proud mum Kirsty Lewis said: “Lilli came home from school one day and decided that she wanted to do something to help homeless and needy people.

“She came up with the idea of being sponsored for drinking water instead of pop for a week.

“We went to the soup kitchen and they printed off sponsor forms for us and we asked family and friends if they could help.

“She knows that some people are less fortunate than others - she has noticed homelsee people on the street and knows they are not as lucky as she is.”
