Skeggy charity ride pedals to £4,000

PEDAL power brought a fundraising success for 17 cyclists from Hucknall and Bulwell.

They rode 82 miles from Skegness to Nottingham, raising nearly £4,000 towards a Nottingham University Hospitals charity to open a cystic fibrosis ward.

Fourteen were from the Co-op on Blenheim Industrial Estate, including the organiser, heavy goods vehicle driver Wayne Smithurst.

The other Co-op riders were Steven Walters, Sion Legg, Darren Hopkins, Lee Machin, Chris Eaton, Mark Ground, Steve Pym, Matt Barrowcliffe, Chris Freeley, Mick Freeley, Mark Blackwell, Terry Kay and Ian Clarke.

The other riders, Ryan Simpson, Johnathan Smith and Johnathan McKechnie were from neighbouring Terradac Tools.
