Small scale arson has risen in Bulwell according to the fire service.
‘Secondary’ fire incidents - such as setting fire to rubbish or grass - in the city hit 120 between April 2014 and March this year, representing a 73.9 per cent rise from the previous 12 months.
Risk Reduction Officer Rachel Banks, said: “We have found that we have a high number of these fires being reported in Bestwood, Bulwell, Bullwell Forest, Eastwood South, St Mary’s and Trent Bridge. We will therefore put greater emphasis on trying to reduce these figures in these key areas.”
But deliberate ‘primary’ fires - which includes setting light to building or vehicles - fell in both the city and in the south of the county to 14.
