Staff at Specsavers 56 High Street are appealing to customers and the community to drop off any tinned or packaged goods at the store from tomorrow until 31st January.

Store director Janet Archer said: ‘We have always thought the Foodbank collection was a great local cause to help as it serves people in need in our town during these tough times.

“Shoppers may wish to bring in leftover ingredients they don’t use from the Christmas period or pick up an extra tin during their weekly shop. Just one item goes a long way, so we are asking our customers for their support; they can drop in with food any time until the end of January.’

Hucknall’s Engage Foodbank is a collaborative project by Churches Together Hucknall, Linby and Papplewick (CTHLP) which has been serving the communities for more than 15 years. The Foodbank is based at ‘Under One Roof’ on Vine Terrace, Hucknall.
