Stags fan Craig recognised for charity efforts

A Mansfield Town supporter has been recognised after he took part in a charity run in memory of a Stags fan who lost her battle with cancer earlier this year.

Stags fanatic Craig Ploughman was named the Sky Bet League 2 Fan of the Month for September for his charity efforts.

Accounts clerk Craig and colleagues from the law firm where he works raised over £700 in a charity run for Mansfield fan Lisa Lodder, who died from cancer.

Craig said: “I am now planning to run the Worksop Halloween Half Marathon for Emma Stamp.

“Emma was a good friend and also a big Stags supporter who lost her life in a car accident at the age of 23.”

Mansfield Town Chairman John Radford said: “The club is proud of Craig for his sterling efforts in raising money in honour of both Lisa Lodder and Emma Stamp.

“He is a deserved winner of this award and everyone at the Stags would like to commend him for his endeavours.”

The panel included Sky Sports presenter Jim White, David Tweed from Sky Bet and Oliver Frankl from the Football League.
