Still time for couple to book summer weddings at Nottinghamshire County Council venues

Nottinghamshire couples thinking of tying the knot are not too late to book a summer wedding this year at one of the county’s venues.

Nottinghamshire County Council’s registration service currently has 1,210 wedding and civil partnership ceremonies booked from June to September at its register offices and approved venues, but there are still spaces for ceremonies during the week and even some availability on Saturdays.

So far 255 summer weddings have been booked in Mansfield and Ashfield, with The Gilstrap in Newark and the County House in Mansfield the two most popular venues.

Helen Scaman, from the council’s registration service said: “The summer months are typically the most popular, as people hope for a nice sunny day. We’ve already welcomed hundreds of couples and their guests through our doors this summer.

“Whilst we can’t guarantee the weather, we can promise an excellent ceremony in any of our beautiful venues which all have outdoor areas for photographs.

“Even though it’s a busy season there are still spaces if people want to book a ceremony over the next couple of months or if they have specific time and date in mind they can make a booking for next year.”
