'Strawberry Moon' phenomenon will light up night sky
Would-be astronomers should keep their eyes peeled for a 'strawberry moon' which could grace our skies tonight (Monday, June 20).
The phenomenon occurs once every 50 to 60 years and will coincide with the Summer Solstice for the first time since the 1960s.
Despite the name, which was coined by North-American native Indians to mark the beginning of the strawberry season, the moon will not glow pink or red but may be a warm amber in colour and appear unusually low on the horizon.
