FAME beckons for seven-year-old dancer Ammarai Gilbert Hodelin (pictured) from Bulwell, who has outclassed older rivals to win more than 20 trophies in competitions around the country.
A product of Team Revolution Dancing School, Ammarai excels in street dancing and disco freestyle and his recent successes were gained at the Nottingham Festival of Dance at the Stratford-upon-Avon Dazzling Dancer competition.
Next month Ammarai, a pupil at Hempshill Hall Primary School in Bulwell, will be hoping for more honours when he takes part in the national dance championships at the Tower Ballroom in Blackpool.
His proud parents, Jerome and Sarah, have encouraged Ammarai and his sister Nevaya, who also attends Team Revolution classes, and they were surprised and delighted with his progress.
“He is a big fan of the dance crew Diversity and inparticular Ashley Banjo, who he tries to emulate,” said Sarah. “He is winning so many cups we will soon need a bigger home to accommodate them.”
Dance-school principal Nichola Buckley described Ammarai as a ‘rising star’.
She said: “Ammarai is destined to go on to bigger and better things but he is young and his life’s journey is just beginning.” (STORY AND PHOTO BY: Peter Jordan).
