The weather did not deter people coming to support the annual summer fair for St John's Church and Community Hall in Hucknall.

The aim of the fair was to raise funds towards renovating and updating the poor conditions in the toilets and the kitchen, lower the ceiling in Hicks Hall and reduce the heating costs at the hall in Nottingham Road.

There was a large number of stalls including pottery, cakes, games, face painting, jewellery, bric-a-brac, and a raffle.

County councillor, John Wilmott, said: “Even the rain did not deter the residents from coming in good numbers for all the bargains.”
