Gary Bird completeld his sixth marathon in his 2015 mission to help raise funds for charity Cardiac Risk in the Young.

Gary, a member of Sutton Harriers Running Club ran the Derbyshire White Peak Full Marathon.

He said: “With the scenery and views, everything was worth the pain and effort.”

He decided to take on the mammoth challenge in memory of Luke Morton - who died in February, 2013, aged just 20.

Luke’s tragic death was caused suddenly by a genetic disorder which triggered a disturbance in the electrical current in his body.

There is a simple screening process which shows whether a person has genetics for sudden cardiac arrest syndrome to occur - which is not currently compulsory on the NHS.

But cash raised can help fund a screening programme for the target age group in the area,

Gary will take on the Boston to Skegness, Robin Hood marathon, Spires and Steeples, and finally the Cornwall Costal Marathons which are three in three days. To sponsor Gary, contact him on his email, gazza 9 ftybr@hotmail,co,uk
